Landlord Confidence Soars in London but Falls Elsewhere

The annual Young Survey that measures landlord confidence has shown that landlords around the UK are much more confident about the price of properties and the rents they will achieve in London than they are about the rest of the country.

According to the results of the most recent survey 100% of the property investors interviewed believe that property values in London will increase this year. In contrast however, only 30% of investors thought that property prices in areas other than London would see a similar increase. This is a big difference and understandably nearly half of the landlords interviewed said they would definitely consider adding London properties to their portfolios this year.

When it came to rental prices the figures were much closer with 85% of investors thinking that rental prices in London would increase over the next 12 months and 79% thinking the rest of the country would see rental increases as well.

Confidence in property investment is obviously high and this is shown conclusively by the fact that 98% of those interviewed said they had absolutely no intention of selling any of their portfolio properties over the next 12 months.
